Ellen N. Tetlow

Ellen Nora Tetlow age 97 of Salem died at the home of her daughter in Chardon on December 8. Mrs. Tetlow was born in Girard, the daughter of Frank O. and Mae (Bert) West on March 16, 1919. She was the wife of the late Lester M. Tetlow whom she married in 1937.
She graduated from Salem High School class of 1937 and was very active with her class reunions. She worked at Deming Pump and because of her love of children worked at the Presbyterian Church Preschool and was Director of the Quaker Daycare in Salem.
She is survived by her son Philip (Gail) of Salem, daughter Diane Emch (James) of Chardon and daughter-in-law Cari (wife of Jon who died in May of this year). She was the devoted grandmother of Leslie Ellis. Tracy Weiss(Scott), Douglas Emch (Victoria), Julie Emch and Alexis Tetlow, the great-grandmother of Carly, Christopher, Owen, and Vivian and great-great-grandmother of Zane.
She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sons Paul, Jon and baby James. She was also predeceased by brothers Paul, Wilbur, Aldon and Don and sisters Norma, Doris and Florence.
A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Salem at a later date.

JOSEPHINE JALWAN (Johns), age 100, beloved wife of Anthony (deceased); dearest mother of Philip (Mary); devoted grandmother of Andrew (Stephanie), Katherine, Kristin and Scott (Jamie); great-grandmother of Bridgette, Connor and Tyler; dear sister of Freddie (Connie) (both deceased), Genevieve, Henry (deceased), Julia (Jerry) (both deceased), Joyce (deceased) and Richard (Anne); aunt, great-aunt and friend to many. Josephine was loved by many far and wide for her great cooking and baking and her famous Kibbee Nayeh. She was featured in a Plain Dealer article titled “90-year-old dynamo helps wishes come true” for her fund raising efforts for the Make-A-Wish foundation while working at the Bob Evans restaurant in Solon. She was also a long time member of the Mayfield Hts., Golden Age Club where she was also involved in fund raising. Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life Tuesday December 27, 2016 from 3-8 P.M. at the home of Richard and Anne Johns, 5856 Briar Hill Dr. Solon, OH.
