Evelyn Pipoly

(8/30/1923-6/14/17)

EVELYN PIPOLY (Blatnik, Trivisonno) passed away on June 14, 2017. She was born August 30, 1923, in Cleveland, Ohio to John and Frances (Korencic) Blatnik. Her siblings Albin (Bea), Vida (Chuck), Justine (Barney) and Harry predeceased her as did her beloved husband, Michael Pipoly. She is survived by her daughter Sharon and son in law John Roberts, her brother Robert (Marlena), sister in law Mary Blatnik, brother in law Joseph Trivisonno (Sally) and many nieces and nephews. Evelyn was a proud graduate of Collinwood High School and a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. She was involved in and served as an officer in numerous Slovenian and Italian organizations, including SNPJ, KSKJ, Slovenian Women’s Union, Holmes Avenue Pensioners, St. Mary’s Seniors, the Waterloo and Holmes Avenue Slovenian Homes, the Federation of Slovenian Homes, the latter of which she was named Woman of the Year in 1998, and finally, the Italian Sons and Daughters of America. Evelyn was a serious pinochle player, a life-long fan of the Cleveland Indians and an avid supporter of the Mentor High School football program coached by her nephew, Steve. Following a family tradition, Evelyn donated her remains to the CWRU School of Medicine. A memorial mass will be celebrated Friday August 4, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Memorials in her honor may be sent to Holy Redeemer Church, 15712 Kipling Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44110.

Walter J. Kesko

WALTER J. KESKO, 93, a resident of Highland Heights, passed away peacefully on June 22nd at Hillcrest Hospital. Wally was born on March 23, 1924 to John and Sophie Kesko. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Sally. Walter is survived by his brother-in-law Ray Niksa and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was a tool and die maker and worked at several companies, including White Motors and Curtis Industries. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Walter’s name to Hillcrest Hospital ICU Unit or Impatient Hospice Care 6780 Mayfield Rd. Mayfield Heights, Ohio 44124. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday June 27, 2017 at 10 a.m. at St. Paschal Baylon Church. Interment All Souls Cemetery. The family will receive friends at VICCHIARELLI FUNERAL HOME 5252 MAYFIELD RD, LYNDHURST (BETWEEN RICHMOND & BRAINARD) MONDAY 4-7 P.M.
